On 24 November 2025, the Flag Officer Commanding Western Naval Command (FOC WEST), Rear Admiral AA Mustapha, GSS, continued his familiarisation tour with a visit to NNS BEECROFT. The Commander NNS BEECROFT, Commodore PP Nimmyel, warmly received the FOC and his entourage on arrival. The reception reflected the importance of the visit and set a professional tone for the engagement.
The FOC later embarked on a guided tour of the base. He observed key facilities, capabilities and operational assets that support the base’s mandate. He saw the layout of the base and interacted directly with the environment in which personnel conduct operations. The tour gave him firsthand insight into the daily operational setting and the ongoing infrastructure improvements at the base.

After the tour, the Base Operations Officer, Lieutenant Commander Shehu Yahaya, delivered a comprehensive briefing. The briefing covered the base’s operational activities, successes and challenges. It outlined NNS BEECROFT’s sustained efforts in maritime security operations. It also highlighted anti-smuggling patrols and contributions to joint maritime initiatives within the Western Naval Command’s Area of Responsibility. The information provided a clear picture of operational performance and areas that require continuous attention.

The visit concluded with the presentation of souvenirs between the FOC and the Base leadership. The gesture symbolised continued cooperation and professional rapport. A group photograph was later taken to commemorate the successful engagement and mark the conclusion of the visit.
